Rare Disease Research Day 2020 We CARe   |   We Care About Rare Friday, February 28, 2020 from 8.30 am - 2 pm Drs. Sylvia & Richard Cruess Amphitheatre & Elspeth McConnell Atrium 1001 boul. Décarie, Montréal, QC, Block E To celebrate Rare Disease Day, the RI-MUHC Consortium for Rare Disease Research (CRDR) is planning a ½ day multidisciplinary event to showcase some of the rare disease clinical and research programs at the RI-MUHC. The event will be organized into short talks and posters, with a special focus on cross-sectional network opportunities for applied research. Invited participants from the McGill University Health Centre network include PhD researchers, clinician-scientists (from pediatric and adult specialties), trainees, research staff, industry, patient advocacy groups, and foundations. Poster Presentations We invite submissions for posters. The purpose is to showcase rare disease CLINICAL and RESEARCH programs throughout the RI-MUHC and MUHC. Feel free to present your clinical activities, clinical studies, or research program. Maximum available poster size is 45” wide x 45” high. Pushpins and poster boards will be provided. Click on the submission tab to submit your abstract. All abstracts will have an opportunity to deliver a 3 minute "pitch" of their poster. Patient Advocacy Groups and Foundations We will provide a small table and chair for you to distribute material to the community. The tables will be located in the Elspeth McConnell Atrium during the poster session. Do not forget to register on the registration tab and an event organizer will be in contact with you. New year new WIP. First up is Elias Jabbour (MSc student), presenting their work on "Characterizing the role of PRC1 in the context of K27M histone-mutated pediatric high-grade glioblastomas." Next is Karen Freire Carvalho, (PhD student), presenting "Molecular and cellular control of cumulus layer expansion: an essential prerequisite for fertilization". Don't forget to bring that mug!
