RI-MUHC Studentship & Fellowship Competition
Every year the RI-MUHC, through its annual Studentship and Fellowship Competition, aims to support graduate students and post-doctoral trainees with exceptional potential for future achievements and productivity.
To apply to the competition, login into the RI-MUHC Portal then go to the "Applications" page and click on "Studentship and Fellowship Competition".
The applications normally open in September and close in October, so remember to watch the deadlines closely.
CHHD Trainee Travel Awards
Are you part of the CHHD program and want to travel for a conference? You can be eligible for up to 750$!
Trainees can apply once a year and must have attended 50% of our Work-In-Progress Seminars and Monday Noon Seminars to be eligible. Don't forget to sign the attendance sheet when you attend the seminars physically or use your complete name when you attend virtually through Zoom. As a travel awardee recipient, you agree to participate and/or fundraise in the annual Pedal for Kids (Research in Action) event in acknowledgment of support by the Montreal Children's Hospital Foundation.
If you would like to apply, you will have to fill out the Travel Award Application Form and sign it, then send it by email to penny.moutsos@affiliate.mcgill.ca.

IMPaCT Training Awards
IMPaCT training awards facilitate participation in a 1-year immersive learning experience with assigned mentors and deliverables. The IMPaCT program is designed to give you the skills and network to design, conduct, and communicate about clinical trials with pregnant people and children (neonates through adolescents).
For the 2025-26 competition there are awards available for PhDs ($35,000), Post Doctoral Fellows ($50,000) and Early Career Researchers ($70,000). This includes three dedicated awards per year for applicants that identify as Black or Indigenous at any career stage. Additionally, Health Research BC will co-fund up to three training awards for BC based researchers.
Priority awards will be awarded in the following areas:
- Neurodevelopment disorders co-funded by the Canadian Neurodevelopmental Research Training Platform (CanNRT)
- Cannabinoid therapeutics in children co-funded by the Canadian Collaborative for Childhood Cannabinoid Therapeutics (C4T)
- Rare diseases co-funded by the RareKids-CAN platform
- Women’s health during or after pregnancy
